Day 68: Killer heat makes for a mediocre run

Running in extreme weather conditions is never advised.  I have read about it, I have head horror stories and yet I let myself get caught up in “my schedule” today.  After all the shuffling around this week, I was going to try to squeeze two workouts in.  My missed 40 minute run and then a […]

Day 67: Don’t forget the suntan lotion

I am trying to play catch up again this week.  Got home from work early and headed to the pool.  It was really, really hot outside.  About halfway through my workout, I realized I forgot to put sun tan lotion on!  Yikes! Luckily, it was a short workout.  The water was not super cold and […]

Day 66: Life sometimes gets in the way of training

By the time I got home from work it was really late.  From my experience in the past, it would not be wise to eat and THEN go out for a run (which is what I was scheduled to do) and by the time I would wait for my dinner to digest, I would be in bed […]

So if you have read any of the blog thus far you know a little bit about me… I can not be told what to do and I push myself about as far as I can be pushed!

But how did I get here and why? Well, that is what this page is about.

I was never really the athletic type. Sure, I played tennis in high school (and quite well, mind you) but running CERTAINLY was never my thing!

The start of 2009 was big for me as I came to the realization that I had put on too much weight over the past 10 years (read more...)
