Couch to 5K: Week 3, Day 1

A rough training week last week but here we go into week three and it starts off with……

Official workout agenda:

  • 5 minute warmup
  • Do this twice:  jog 90 seconds, walk 90 seconds, jog 3 minutes, walk 3 minutes
  • 5 minute cooldown

I did give my body a day off to fix itself before today….  Once I got out there, guess what?  NO FOOT PAIN!!!  First time in over a week!  So I guess it was NOT a stress fracture and the new shoe inserts along with some new stretching exercises seem to help.  Knowing how all of your muscles work together makes a BIG difference.

In addition, I have been learning how to run all over again.  There are several tutorials online that explain this it is really worth investigating if you plan on running at all.

Really had a great run today and was so excited about the lack of foot pain, I did a little over 5 miles and burned 640 calories.  I just hope I did not push it AGAIN!

So if you have read any of the blog thus far you know a little bit about me… I can not be told what to do and I push myself about as far as I can be pushed!

I was never really the athletic type. Sure, I played tennis in high school (and quite well, mind you) but running CERTAINLY was never my thing!
