Day 53: Working late forced an unexpected day off

By Skip

I had to move things around today.  We did not leave work until about 7pm so it was too late to go to the pool, too late to bike and I was hungry which meant it was time to eat when we got home.  I learned my lesson previously not to eat and go running.  So, either I do the stationary bike or move my Monday rest day to today OR I double up tomorrow……. I think I will move my rest day.

I am not afraid of doubling up but last Monday was pretty intense when I tried to do that.  Over the next couple of days I have an intense V02 max swim drill, bike/run brick and a 10k run.  I don’t need to torture my body by combining days.  It is weird though… right now I feel like I am cheating or something.

If I had to look back, well, it was a short and intense week.  I am looking over the next 28 days or so of workouts left and it is only going to get more intense.  I really only have 3 weeks left before I start to taper.  I am actually scared at that thought.  Will I be ready in time?  Who knows?  The Shadow knows!

A couple more fundraising opportunities for you out there coming up in the next day or two.  If you are a philanthropic person, I will be able to provide a vehicle to make you feel good.

If you liked that post, then try these...

About

So if you have read any of the blog thus far you know a little bit about me… I can not be told what to do and I push myself about as far as I can be pushed!

But how did I get here and why? Well, that is what this page is about.

I was never really the athletic type. Sure, I played tennis in high school (and quite well, mind you) but running CERTAINLY was never my thing!

The start of 2009 was big for me as I came to the realization that I had put on too much weight over the past 10 years (read more...)
