Day 6: First day of relaxing

For those of you following this blog you might be a little confused… I decided to keep my rest days as posts just to give my overall feelings about the previous weeks training and my goals for the upcoming week.

I just adjusted two days to sneak this in so hopefully I have not messed too many people up.  If so, I am sorry but I committed to this change early enough to make it work properly from here on out.

Technically, I was not scheduled for my day off until tomorrow but since I had plans for the holiday weekend, I mixed things up a little.  I was able to recover from the previous days party.  It was a good thing and I needed it. 

Here is what it said on my routine today:

Quick Tip: Never train in pain. If you feel anything worse than normal workout soreness while swimming, cycling, or running, abandon the session and begin trying to figure out what caused the pain and how to keep it from coming back.

I have to always keep that in the back of my mind.  However, right now, I feel like I am not working hard enough at what I am doing.  I was expecting more soreness and pain than what I have.  Either I have  a really good base from all these months of running or I am not doing something right.  Or maybe I am on a really good program that paces me to the end and the finale of my first race!

I was never really the athletic type. Sure, I played tennis in high school (and quite well, mind you) but running CERTAINLY was never my thing!
