What a great post!!! Lol, I fit in several areas to the T. Interesting to say the least…and I thought I was all alone in my behaviors.
It, it is kind of good to know it is not just me 🙂 Gives some new justification to what I do.
There is no way that amount spent on average per year is right…◦Average of $24,408 spent on triathlon related purchases per year. Even if you throw in travel, lodging and others. I did 6 events this year, 4 Tri’s and didn’t exceed $300 on shoes, let alone other things. The thing I bought most of were spare tubes (3 flats this year). Are you sure you didn’t misplace a decimal there? Or perhaps it’s a lifetime thing. I’m nowhere near that, but could get close in my lifetime.
That does seem rather high. I just cut and pasted the info as I found it. Now you have me curious…. I am going to look around to verify this number with other studies done.
Great informative post Skip! I’m doing a research on the triathletes’ demographics and I would love to see your sources! Thank you.
Philippe, that came from an article I was reading and comes from a 2006 Triathlete magazine subscriber study prepared by MRI.
