Let me race for you!

Are you a non-profit?  Are you looking for a fundraising opportunity?  I have the solution… let me race for your organization!

I have made the commitment over the next two years to race for charitable organizations across the country and I want to race for yours.  I have raised thousands of dollars for other non-profits,  why not yours?

Frequently Asked Questions:

Does my non-profit organization qualify?

  • You must be a registered 501(c)(3) organization
  • Your organization’s main office must be located inside of the United States.

Do I need to be a South Florida non-profit?

  • No.  Even though I am located in South Florida, your organization does not need to be.  It always helps to be local for promotional events and support during the race but it is not necessary.

Does it cost my organization anything?

  • No.  I supply the “vehicle” to help you raise money.  You will be responsible for doing the promotional work for the event on your end.  This could be one of many different methods such as email blast, printed brochures, fundraising dinners, etc.  However you normally raise money, that is how you will promote this event.  If you need ideas or help in this area, just ask me.
  • A great way to raise funds for this type of event is through websites like FirstGiving.com and related sites.  If our organization is not currently setup through FirstGiving, I would highly recommend that you do so.  It allows others to raise money for you!

How much will my organization receive?

  • This will all depend on how you promote the event.  The more time and energy you put into it, the more you will get out of it.  I personally do not handle any of the money… you handle all of the finances.

What’s the catch?  What do YOU get out of this?

  • That is a very common question and my answer is simple;  I get a healthy lifestyle out of it…. that is it!  It gives me the opportunity to race and to race for a cause.  There is no type of payment that could supply that much satisfaction and benefits.

Will you come to a promotional event that we are going to have?

  • I would be happy to come to a promotional event that your organization wishes to sponsor.  If you are a local non-profit located in Broward County, I will be more than happy to show up at no charge.  If you are outside of my “zone” I ask that you supply meals and transportation.

Will you race in a particular event for us?

  • Absolutely.  This also depends on my existing training and race schedule in addition to my personal limitations.  Once again, if it is outside of Broward County, I would ask that you pay for meals and transportation.  This is not limited to the State of Florida…. as long as it fits in my schedule, I will travel anywhere.

How do I get started?

So if you have read any of the blog thus far you know a little bit about me… I can not be told what to do and I push myself about as far as I can be pushed!

But how did I get here and why? Well, that is what this page is about.

I was never really the athletic type. Sure, I played tennis in high school (and quite well, mind you) but running CERTAINLY was never my thing!

The start of 2009 was big for me as I came to the realization that I had put on too much weight over the past 10 years (read more...)
