RSR 17 – A day off after my time off.. hmmmm…

By Skip

Episode number 17 of my training diary…..

This was my second day back in training and it is my day off… Well, not really but considering I have a tough week ahead I am taking it easy today, especially after yesterday’s bout with ITBS.  Big question of the day is what is your FIRST big race of the year and second, what is your “A” race for the year?

[..YouTube..] @TheMossel , have fun on your first triathlon…. there is nothing like it! The one thing I can tell you is to prep yourself and practice your transitions and how you lay out your gear. Preperation will end up calming your nerves and get you past that non-productive energy. Also, try to practice your swim a couple of times in the actual water you will be swimming in. This was a big factor for me as well.

So if you have read any of the blog thus far you know a little bit about me… I can not be told what to do and I push myself about as far as I can be pushed!

But how did I get here and why? Well, that is what this page is about.

I was never really the athletic type. Sure, I played tennis in high school (and quite well, mind you) but running CERTAINLY was never my thing!

The start of 2009 was big for me as I came to the realization that I had put on too much weight over the past 10 years (read more...)
